We are currently looking to hire an Employment Specialist.
Employment Specialist Job Description
(Hybrid Role – Mostly Remote)
Most work is virtual, with occasional in-person meetings at the office (115 N Parkside Drive) or at client job sites in and around Colorado Springs. The percentage of virtual to in-person work varies weekly, depending on caseload needs.
Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:
Independently build, maintain, and manage relationships with clients to support their journey to job placement. Develop and successfully execute personalized employment plans based on client strengths, goals, and vocational assessments. -
Job Development & Employer Engagement:
Conduct tailored job development and search activities, making at least three employer contacts per week per client. Your primary responsibility is to secure gainful employment for your clients by developing job leads that match their strengths and align with employer needs. Research and attend job fairs, connect with business stakeholders and expand community employment networks. Present client qualifications to employers, negotiate job accommodations and provide support throughout the hiring process. -
Job Coaching & Onboarding Support:
Provide one-on-one job coaching to help clients retain employment, adapt to workplace expectations, and enhance their job skills. Assist clients with onboarding, job retention, and resolving workplace challenges through both virtual coaching and on-site job support. Advocate for clients by working directly with employers to highlight client strengths and ensure that any necessary accommodations or support are provided. -
Documentation & Progress Tracking:
Accurately track and record all client progress, including maintaining comprehensive records, case files, and documentation in accordance with company policies and state requirements. This will involve utilizing electronic systems, so comfort and experience with technology are essential. Monitor performance metrics and ensure that clients’ employment goals are met. -
Interview Assistance:
Attend interviews with clients to provide direct support, ensure that they are prepared, and help manage post-interview discussions. Offer guidance on interview strategies, employer expectations, and the follow-up process. -
Collaborative Support:
Meet regularly with the MET leadership and team to collaborate on solving client challenges, share progress updates, receive direct feedback on performance, discuss opportunities for growth, and brainstorm innovative solutions for job placement and retention strategies. -
Community Engagement:
Represent the organization at local job fairs, hiring events, and networking sessions to foster employer relationships and create new opportunities on behalf of clients. Maintain strong ties with local business networks to continually expand job opportunities. -
Autonomous Case Management:
Independently manage all aspects of client casework from intake to successful job stability, including scheduling meetings, completing required documentation, and ensuring all milestones are met. This role requires a high level of autonomy and balancing multiple tasks without direct oversight.

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of the hiring process with a background in HR, recruiting, or talent acquisition.

Strong understanding of today's job market and how to achieve gainful employment.

Able to work independently, manage client relationships, schedule meetings, and maintain files with minimal oversight.

Experience working with various stakeholders, such as employers and job candidates.

Proficiency in Google Suite is required.

Experience with people with disabilities is preferred but not required.
Bonus Structure:
In addition to the hourly wage, this position receives performance bonuses. ​
